Title: Application of Genetic Algorithm in Website-Based Course Scheduling Information System at
STIKOM Yos Sudarso Purwokerto
STIKOM Yos Sudarso is an IT campus that was established to meet the needs of strong and reliable human
resources in the field of information technology. The problem faced by STIKOM Yos Sudarso are the inefficient
and ineffective lecture scheduling so that there are frequent changes in lecture schedules. To solve this problem,
the Subject Scheduling Information System is needed. The scheduling system uses the Code Igniter 3 framework,
PHP, javascript, MySQL, and genetic algorithms as data processing and system development using the
prototype method. System analysis using whitebox test, blackbox test, cyclomatic complexity test, normality test,
hypothesis test, benefit test, validity test, and reliability test. The result of this research is that website-based
course scheduling information system using genetic algorithms can increase the effectiveness and efficiency in
scheduling time from average of 7 days 15 hours and 39 minutes in the making to 31.26 seconds.
